The Illawarra at its most picturesque! Paintings, prints and watercolours from 1831 to 1950 including new works acquired through the George and Nerissa Johnson Memorial Bequest and a panoramic view of Lake Illawarra by Alfred Coffey.


A new short film by Greg Appel featuring local historian Dr Joseph Davis discussing the much admired Eugene von Guerard paintings will also be on view.


The six earliest photographys of Illawarra

Our wonderful escarpment forest and tiny but perilous harbours were an inspiration to some of the most important 19th century Australian photographers.  But historian Joseph Davis​ will also tell the story of some newly discovered very early Wollongong photographic gems.  Free all welcome.
