The Community Access Gallery program aims to provide a high profile exhibition space that supports the work of local artists and Illawarra community groups. This exhibition space is available for monthly hire at a cost of $600.  This cost includes:

  • Three week exhibition period
  • Open to public 10am-5pm Tuesday-Friday, Weekends 12-4pm - lift & stair access available
  • Use of cables and installation equipment
  • Use of an adjoining room for opening/launch
  • Use of three Gallery staff for opening / launch (maximum time 3hrs)
  • Use of PA equipment, tables, table cloths and glassware for opening/launch

JACINTA MWANGI - Tucheze (let us play)
4 March - 3 April 2022 
This exhibition seeks to inspire cohesion in our community and allow us to find creative and safe ways to play, despite our differences and social divisions.  Exhibition Opening: Friday 4 March at 5.45pm.

JOHN McMANUS - The Charm of things Hidden in Plain View 
8 April - 1 May 2022 
John's black & white pigment print photographs of nature,  invites the viewer to gaze below the surface and perhaps discover something of their own. Exhibition Opening: Friday 8 April 2022 at 6pm.

NSW School Students in Years K-10 
3 - 29 May 2022 
Operation Art is an initiative of the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and the NSW Department of Education. Each year school students across NSW submit artworks for the exhibition at Sydney Olympic Park Armory Gallery. The Touring 50 Collection is selected from this exhibition by a team of judges, then tours NSW regional galleries opening first at the Art Gallery of NSW. On completion of the tour, these 50 artworks will be gifted to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead to brighten the walls for patients, staff and visitors. Exhibition opening Friday 6 May at 3pm.

3 June-3 July 2022 
An exploration of wild animals’ relationships and behaviours through realistic charcoal drawings. Exhibition opening Friday 3 June at 6pm.
