2022 EXHIBITION PROGRAM

JOHN McMANUS - The Charm of things Hidden in Plain View

7 January - 3 February 2022
John's black & white pigment print photographs of nature,  invites the viewer to gaze below the surface and perhaps discover something of their own. Exhibition Opening: 14 January 2022 at 6pm. Free all welcome.

GUY JAMES WHITWORTH: +A

5-20 February 2022
Already well known for his annual Mardi Gras exhibitions, which usually feature portraits of members of the LGBTQI communities, Guy James Whitworth is doing things differently this year! Starting off with an empty gallery, Whitworth will be seeking inspiration from the often under acknowledged, but hugely important Allies mentioned at the end of the LGBTQI acronym – ‘+A’.

Witness the walls gradually come alive with colourful and dramatic portraits of Wollongong’s most fabulous allies to the diverse Queer communities. All artworks created will be auctioned at the end of the show with all money raised going to local LGBTQI charities.

“Anyone from local legends, celebrities, industry heads, tourists and gallery visitors, if they identify themselves as ‘allies’ they're invited to either book in or walk into the gallery, take a seat and model for one of my sketches, forming part of this evolving, wildly unpredictable exhibition”.

This fundraising exhibition last took place in Sydney’s iconic Bondi Pavilion in 2019 and was heralded as ‘not to be missed’ by the ABC.

To book a sitting with the artist, please contact him directly at guyjameswhitworth@hotmail.com or chat with the Gallery staff at the reception desk.
