We're searching for a new Gallery Director

After 15 years of service, Wollongong Art Gallery Director John Monteleone has announced his retirement. When asked about his experience over the past decade and a half, John said "It has been my pleasure and privilege to serve as Gallery Director of the Wollongong Art Gallery. Being a part of a talented, and dedicated team passionate about bringing diverse and high-quality art experiences to our community has been both exciting and personally satisfying.

Wollongong has an art gallery and art collection of which it can be proud, and I will be eagerly looking forward to visiting the gallery and seeing the amazing exhibitions and programs the gallery will be presenting in the years to come.”

With this announcement comes an exciting opportunity for a new Director to lead Wollongong Art Gallery. As Director of one Australia’s leading regional galleries, you will develop and maintain a creative vision that engages, excites, entertains, and challenges visitors and encourages critical art sector review. This position will lead a team of dedicated professionals to bring a diverse range of creative and innovative projects and programs to life.
