Early Childhood Tours

Our early childhood tours are perfect for children from 3 to 5 years old and are a great way to introduce them to visual arts.

The Gallery guides make the tours fun and engaging for students, as they explore our current exhibitions. The tours usually run for 30 to 40 minutes, but we can shorten the time to suit different needs. We also keep class sizes small, so everyone gets the most out of their visit.

Looking to add more to your visit? You may be interested in booking a workshop as well. See our Early Childhood Workshops page for more information.

Booking information

Maximum group size: 15

If your group is bigger than 15, please let us know. We can organise alternate options including splitting the group into two.

Our guided tours are free!

You will need to book at least four weeks before your visit.

Please contact us to ask about arranging a tour for your early childhood group.

If your request is accepted, we'll send you a booking confirmation with information to help your visit.

Once your booking is confirmed we will issue a confirmation, along with Council's risk assessments covering safety while at the Gallery.

Allow 5 -10 minutes at the beginning of your visit for the Gallery introductions. Please be punctual as tours and workshops are scheduled for specific times. Late arrivals may result in a reduction in the number of artworks viewed and the shortening of practical workshops.

Please visit the Gallery front desk and advise staff of your arrival. The Gallery Guides and/or Education Officer will meet you in the foyer area.

We have a minimal waste policy and ask that packaging of food items brought to the Gallery are minimised.
